Creative Manipulations for the Web & Beyond

Welcome to my portfolio / business site. I am currently available to work with clients of all sizes.

Strap in … this is not your typical business nor your typical presenter.

A Bio w/ Some Old Pixs

Salutations! My name is V. Matthew King-Yarde, a Black freelance polymath web developer, creator, andz hired press based in Brooklyn, NY.

When you work with me, you’re dealing with a true one-man show. There are no account managers or middlemen passing the buck—from the underlying code to the creative assets, it’s all my hands on the wheel. I partner with anyone who needs sharp digital execution, whether you’re an individual creator, a local small business, or a larger company looking for direct results.

Over the years, my work has evolved right along with the web itself. I started out building early sites, and as the internet grew, I grew with it. On the creative side, I operate as a full-spectrum media producer—directing videos, shooting event photography, designing graphics, and assembling print layouts. I also work as hired press, which means I’m regularly out on the ground with credentials and a camera, capturing real-world stories and handling field production. I don’t just make “content”; I understand how to document real moments under pressure.

On the technical side, my bread and butter is front-end HTML for lightning-fast static sites, and I specialize heavily in custom WordPress development. I know my way around builders like SquareSpace and Wix, and for anything else outside of that, I learn as I go. But I don’t just stay inside the box of pre-built platforms; I am also currently expanding my focus into building custom web applications from scratch when a project demands unique logic.

Because I live at the intersection of clean code, media production, and boots-on-the-ground press work, I understand audience behavior in a way standard developers usually don’t. That depth attracts clients with highly specific, non-traditional tastes, but I’m just as comfortable delivering clean, straightforward work.

And when I say “I have years of experience in this,” you can tell by the computer in the bottom-left photo that I mean it. I personally built that rig back in the day. Its specs won’t help you build a modern web app, but the Netscape browser running on it should tell you everything. If you’ve never heard of Netscape, it just means I’ve been on the web since before it was cool.

I’m old in net years, but young in ambition.

Services

Breaking down the elements that makes up what I can do.

Web Development

Are you looking to spruce up your website? With over 15 years of experience in web development, I’m here to help. I’m well-versed in all types of Content Management Systems, but my preferred weapon of choice is WordPress because of its flexibility. Whether you need a complete website redesign or just some minor updates, I can help bring your vision to life.

Graphic Design

In addition to web development, my first love was designing with Photoshop. Whether it’s a simple flyer or a complex full-page ad with a lot going on, I can create something that suits your needs. Just one favor I ask – please don’t say “nice Photoshop work!” Photoshop is not a verb.

Event Photography

Hosting an event and need a skilled photographer? Look no further! With an actual camera in hand, I have a keen eye for capturing one-of-a-kind moments and will do whatever it takes to get the perfect shot.

Yes, that includes laying down on the ground from time to time to get the perfect angle.

Video Editing

Do you have a bunch of videos and only need the best moments compiled? Or do you need some video footage fixed, regardless of the screen size? My experience allows me to edit videos for big screens as well as small ones. In fact, I’ve edited videos for Time Square, which is as big as it gets! So, whether you need a short highlight reel or a full-length feature, I’ve got you covered.

Content Creation/Curation.

Put it all together and you have someone who can create engaging content! With my experience in web development, photography, and video editing, I can help you develop content that captures the attention of your audience. In fact, I won a Shorty Award for creating a hashtag that engages people, so I know a thing or two about what people like. Whether you’re in the service, entertainment, or any other industry, I can work with you to develop an angle that helps you attract customers on social media. Your audience can engage with your content and be directed to your website, or make a purchase directly on social media.

Contact

Now that you seen what I can do, how can I help you?

If you’re interested in my work/style and would like to get in touch with me, you can book a free consultation using the button located (and floating) bottom left of your device’s screen (or click on the button below). Simply select a time that works for you, and I’ll send out reminders before the appointment to ensure that we’re still on track. During the appointment, we can discuss your project in detail.

Alternatively, you can use the form below to send me an email. This will be the slower contact method, as it may take up to 48 hours (weekdays) for me to respond, but all detailed responses will get an answer.

Why is there no direct phone number? Well, I believe that serious business inquiries will respect the boundaries I set. If you are serious, once you set an appointment, you’ll get my number. Additionally, I may be working on other projects, creating content for myself or others, or taking a well-deserved mental health day. I prefer to come to you with my A-game, which is why I limit communication to these two channels.

So, choose the best method and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
